Do photos share where they were taken?
No. GPS coordinates are stripped from uploads automatically.
Phone photos usually record the exact coordinates where they were taken. Every upload here has that location data removed automatically, so it is not in the file even if someone downloads the original.
Photos keep the orientation information they need to display the right way up, and JPEGs additionally lose camera details, timestamps and any embedded thumbnail.
