Do photos share where they were taken?
No. Coordinates are removed from photos and video on upload.
Phone cameras usually record the exact coordinates where a photo or video was taken. SharePix removes that on upload, before the file is stored or shared, so it is not in the file even if somebody downloads the original.
What else is removed depends on the format. A JPEG loses everything: camera and lens details, timestamps, embedded thumbnails. An iPhone HEIC photo and a video lose their coordinates and keep the rest, because taking more out would mean rebuilding the file and that risks the file itself. Photos keep the orientation they need to display the right way up.
